Edward Gurry
Ed Gurry is the corporate counsel at Hobart International Airport, the busiest curfew-free airport in Tasmania, Australia. In his role, Gurry works as a true generalist providing advice to business units on a range of legal risks. He began his legal career in private practice working for leading independent Australian law firm Hall & Wilcox, with graduate experience at award-winning firm Lander & Rogers and Legal Aid. Gurry has since become a strong advocate of the in-house role, in both an industry and business perspective, having seen first hard the benefits of being exposed to a number of different areas of law. Having studied both Business Management (RMIT) and Law (VU) he openly admits to enjoying being engrossed into the day-to-day dealings of an organization which arises from working in-house. He is passionate about a positive office culture and the wider community, and regularly volunteers across various community stakeholders including not-for-profits, non-government organizations and high schools.
