In April, ACC launched a premier podcast, In-house Insiders, where in-house legal professionals from Australia come together to discuss their challenges, successes, and lessons that have defined their careers.
The first two episodes premiered on April 12 and are currently available for free on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify.
Episode one featured Anthony Mennillo, senior manager of legal services at MIGA. Mennillo was a successful legal senior at MIGA in 2008 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Mennillo’s episode focuses on how he became in-house counsel, his shock at the life-changing diagnosis, and the resilience he has found in overcoming the associated challenges.
Episode two shared the story of Amy Salapak, senior legal counsel at Curtin University. In 2018, Salapak was awarded a scholarship by the Australian-American Fulbright Commission, which she used to study the role of ethics, regulation, law, and governance in the financial services sector following the global financial crisis.
She has since presented her research at various international forums, and now recaps it in her episode of In-house Insiders. Salapak discusses how ethics and culture impact the in-house legal profession, and how she has recently overcome her own personal adversity.
The next episode of In-house Insiders airs on April 28.
