Pfizer vaccine’s lawyer moves to Recursion
Recursion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. appointed Louisa Daniels as chief legal officer and general counsel. Daniels joins the biotech company from Pfizer, where she served as vice president and assistant general counsel and took the lead on legal support for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine program. She had previously worked as in-house counsel at biotech and pharmaceutical companies like Elan Pharmaceuticals and Tularik, totaling 20 years in the industry.
Former Kushner GC lands at Stro Cos.
Emily Wolf assumes a new position as general counsel for industrial real estate developer Stro Cos. Last June, Wolf stepped down after four years as the general counsel of Kushner Cos. LLC, the real estate company owned by the family of former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. After leaving Kushner Companies LLC, she joined BEB Capital LLC as general counsel before joining Stro Companies last month.
Viking’s ownership hires Matt Slaven as GC
Zgyi Wilf and his family have hired Matt Slaven as general counsel of the family's commercial real estate company. Wilf is the chairman and co-owner of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, whose 200-acre corporate office development is overseen by Wilf’s real estate business. The development of the corporate offices is Slaven’s major responsibility at his new position.
Liberty Bank appoints Jaimmé Collins as GC
Liberty Bank and Trust Company has announced Jaimmé Collins is their new general counsel and lead of the Strategic Initiatives Division. This is Collins’ first in-house position after 12 years as an attorney with Adams and Reese LLP in Louisiana. She has served as law clerk, a special assistant to US Senator Mary Landrieu, and a White House associate director of political affairs.
Freeline introduces Stephen Diamond as GC
Stephen Diamond joins Freeline Therapeutics Holdings as senior vice president and general counsel. Diamond comes to Freeline from an assistant general counsel position at Pfizer. Prior to that, he served in-house with Axiom, Barclays Capital, and AIG and in private practice at Milbank LLP and Sidley Austin LLP.
Metromile hires Junna Ro as new GC
The car insurance company Metromile has hired Junna Ro as general counsel. Prior to joining Metromile, Ro spent more than 15 years at CSAA Insurance Group. At CSAA, she served as vice president, chief ethics and compliance officer, and associate general counsel. She has also worked as corporate counsel at Symantec and VERITAS Software.
UNITY announces Alexander Nguyen as GC
UNITY Biotechnology, Inc. announced Alexander Nguyen as their new general counsel. Nguyen comes to UNITY from Roivant Sciences. He was general counsel at Alyvant, head of legal at Axovant, and as head of compliance at Roivant Sciences. Nguyen has also served as an assistant White House counsel.
BEB Capital names Andrew Levine new CLO
BEB Capital has appointed Andrew B. Levine to serve as its chief legal officer. Since joining, Levine is the first CLO for the real estate development and lending firm. He previously worked as senior counsel at Fried Frank in the real estate department and as managing director at the French bank Natixis.
